General Dentistry

Beginning with The New Patient Experience, we will take the time to listen and answer your questions and concerns, to offer you high quality dental care.   Our office is committed to providing the full realm of dental procedures in order to achieve and maintain optimum oral health of our patients in a comfortable and caring atmosphere.

Hygiene and periodontal therapy

Periodontal disease (gum disease) is the most common dental disease among adults.  If left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to early tooth loss and in turn affect your smile, your comfort, and your ability to chew.  Periodontal disease has also been shown in studies to increase the risk for heart disease.  Our office is committed to helping you manage and reduce this silent, yet destructive disease using the latest detection and treatment techniques.

Laser therapy

Our office utilizes a soft tissue laser to help create beautiful smiles.  This technology allows for much more comfortable gingival procedures with minimal or no post op discomfort.  Healing time is also drastically reduced due to the minimal invasive technique.  Healthy gums surrounding beautiful teeth is easily achievable with this technology.

Intra oral camera

The tiny, safe, non-invasive intraoral camera is a remarkable diagnostic tool that allows us to easily capture images of the inside of your mouth.  Images are then easily displayed on the computer monitor allowing you and our doctors the ability to more effectively communicate your treatment needs or desires.

Digital x-rays

Though traditional x-ray imaging devices  emit an extremely small amount of radiation, our new digital system limits that exposure by 80 - 90 percent.  Once taken, the radiographs are instantly displayed onto a computer monitor for you and one of our doctors to review.  The speed and display with this technology allows for shorter and more informed patient appointments.

Composite (white) fillings

Our office is committed to mercury free dentistry.  We do not place silver metal fillings that are extremely noticeable and contain mercury.  Composite resin tooth colored fillings are safe, durable, and virtually undetectable, making those around you think you’ve always had a flawless smile.

Space Maintainers

Space maintainers are recommended when baby molar teeth are lost prematurely.  The goal of the space maintainer is to prevent the movement of adjacent teeth allowing for natural eruption of the upcoming permanent teeth.  Failure to do so often complicates the eruption sequence which may later require additional tooth straightening.  Therefore space maintainers can often help save money on future orthodontics.

Retainers

A retainer is an orthodontic appliance that is worn after your braces have been removed and teeth straightened. The retainer prevents the teeth from returning back to their original positions.  Our office provides patients with clear invisible retainers to protect that beautiful smile!

Mini dental implants

Mini dental implants can be placed at our office in order to help stabilize and retain a loose denture.  These narrow diameter implants can be placed into a severely resorbed jaw ridge to help secure dentures.  Denture stabilization with miniature implants can be a life changing procedure performed in one appointment.

Conventional dental implants

Conventional dental implants are larger than miniature dental implants, more versatile, stronger, and more costly.  For certain patients, they are absolutely a better option.  In these cases, the restorative dentist may work with an implant surgeon as well as a specialized dental laboratory to achieve the desired result.  Again, they can be transformative to your life and ability to eat.

Nitrous oxide relaxation

Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas inhalation sedation is highly effective in the management of mild to moderate levels of dental anxiety.  It is also an excellent technique in persons with extreme gag reflex by reducing this response.  Our doctors will help you decide if this therapy is right for you.  If you think you may like to try it, please let us know.

Extractions and minor surgeries

Our primary goal is to prevent tooth loss and maintain dental health.  However, at times this is unavoidable. When we extract a tooth we aim to preserve as much of the surrounding bone as possible to prevent unsightly healing, enabling a good aesthetic result when restoring the missing tooth. Bone grafting procedures performed simultaneously help achieve optimum bone health.

Root canal treatment

Root canal therapy is required when you have a broken, infected, or painful tooth.  Local anesthesia is used to eliminate discomfort. In addition, we will provide nitrous oxide analgesia if indicated. Most of the time a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort, involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth, eliminate pain, and save your smile and ability to chew.
